| Has sam today proved that all of the doubters where wrong? He is clearly the best player england have had since hanley! he is not the next hanley, he is the sam tomkins! This lad has the world at the feet, and not just wigan fans, rugby league fans need to keep him in this sport! He is world class!
Fair credit to england today, we absolutely ripped into them from minute one, jamie jones buchanan was my unsung hero.

Peacock has been fantastic as have all the pack, including my unsung hero today JJB!
But to have back who scares the aussies is brilliant! If we can learn how to defend the fringes the next 2 weeks we will win this 4 nations.

| Tomkins was brilliant all game long, Roby & Chase were brilliant until the forwards got injured and the PTB slowed down to a crawl.
That is EASILY the best I've seen an England team play in a long while and it's just a shame Ellis, Peacock & Graham all got injured.

How dare you suggest we keep him in the game. If we let good players stay how will the RFL succeed with their master plan to have Wakefield and Cas catch up? Kick him out I say. With players like that we'll never have an 'equal competition', and as many posters on here will tell you, an equal competition is the only way to grow the sport. Test all players regularly for excessive skill, strength or fitness. Anyone with too much of any must be banned for life. I'm sick of watching this talent ruin Nigel Wood's glorious game.

| Tompkins is definately the best player we've produced in this country for a few years, in saying that, I thought Jack Reed and Ryan Hall took tries well and James Graham kept on making yard after yard, as they all do in the SL and NRL.
We have the players who are top class all across the pitch sometimes we lack confidence in SL, brought on often by massively over negative fans.

| I think Chase must have been late, he missed his game v Wales so they let him play against the Aussies instead.
Tomkins was class.

Completely agree bud. Yesterday was the first time in a long time where we've played like we wanted to win instead of trying not to lose. I could see a change in belief by the team and even though the result didn't go our way I sensed that there was disappointment but not despair over the defeat i.e. I didn't get the impression the team was scared of the Aussies anymore. That's a big step change for this team and sport.

| The real positive is we can play so much better. I'm sure they'll say the same but then they had 2 games against the Kiwis in the build up to this compared to ours against Wales and France.
As for Tomkins he's got every right to be talked about in the class of players like Slater, Marshall, Thurston, Smith etc.

| he may be an arrogant tw@ but he has some great skills. I really hope he ends up in the NRL not RU. First true world class back I have seen in an England shirt in quite a few years.

| Yes he is a great talent & will improve ten fold if wants to, but lets give a bit of credit to the forwards who gave him a bit of time & space to work with. JJB & Wilkin who seem to have taken a lot of negative on here were great & took on a greater load when Ellis & Graham got hurt. They gave us momentum going forward, Not one player let us down though Chase will fit in better when those around him realise that he will always be trying something different & to keep alert when he has the ball.
