| Does anyone know when the next scheduled tour is??
Mate seems to think its 2010. Is this correct and anyone have anymore details on this so it can be booked and saved for and time off work negotiated?
TIA

| england go down under in 2010 for the 4nations....the ARL,after having their nose put out by the RFL announcing the 2009 4nations without consulting the ARL (boo fricking hoo), have already announced that melbourne is going to get a 2010 4nations game..
as for GB, don't hold your breath, theres talk about a possible GB tour in 2012 but thats very unlikely given that wales & scotland will be trying to qualify for the 2013 world cup and why would the WRL or SRL support a tour which could possibly see their best players taken away from the welsh & scottish national team when they need them most? plus the RFL would be shooting themselves in the foot as they need all the home nations to qualify for the world cup for them to be vindicated in the decision to split GB up in the first place...
notice i left ireland out of that....they want nothing to do with GB,they want to stand alone as a test nation....and why would'nt they? they finished 5th at the world cup...
it would'nt surprise me if in 2012 either england toured NZ or we have a tri nations down under..

| Went over for World Cup and would definitely do it again. Would probs be looking at 2012 as opposed to next year.

| I would love to see the poms come back to NZ...they should come back for a 3 week tour with two mid week games.
Say:
vs Kiwis - Auckland, 1st Test
vs Auckland - Auckland mid week match
vs Kiwis - Wellington, 2nd Test
vs NZ Maori - Taranaki, mid week match
vs Kiwis - Christchurch, 3rd Test
Of course they would need a larger squad, but it will also help develop players and i think the mid week games would attracted good crowds. Of course Auckland and NZ Maori would call on NRL players...
Or of course you dont have to have the mid week matches...

| Really enjoyed being in Oz for the World Cup last year and looking forward to the four nations next year. Saving hard and hoping that the England v New Zealand game is held in NZ. Would also be nice to see England play their fixture against the Pacific Island team that qualifies on that island as well. Does it look as though the England v Australia game could be in Melbourne again then?
| | | |
| How do you honestly sell England or GB in any competition in Australia?
They have been destroyed every time they have visited Australia this decade.....diabolical losses.
This isnt England where you idiots dont understand the game and think you have a chance, you're trying to sell a non contest to a public that know its a non contest.
Thank god for the Kiwis!

And what happened from there?
NZ loses points and STILL beats England to the Final.
England can not compete against the top 6 teams.

| 2010 is the 100th anniversary of the first tour by the Northern Union. We should be sending a team down under to celebrate that, playing in a replica kit, with games against NSW, Qld, Australia and New Zealand.
But then, why on earth would we want to use an important date like this to promote the game?!?!
| | |
| You know the difference between 1910 and 2010?
100 years.
You know back then people used to ride horses to work, out houses were your only option, you didnt buy a house, you built it, and you couldnt drink the water without getting sick.
It was a lot like modern day Salford really.
I guess the point I'm trying to make is that, things that worked 100 years ago sometimes wont translate well into 2010 life.
A lot like your modern resident of Salford.
So you take a "Northern Union" team, which is basically that ****ing sh*t aweful side you took to Australia for last years World Cup. You throw them in yet a different jersey, give them yet another name.
So now you want to play New South Wales. New South Wales only play State Of origin matches, three games in the middle of the season, but now you want to sell a game between a much loved and followed side against a bunch of p*ss poor Poms who are so busy fight over petty little club rivalries between little old towns in little old Northern England, to really care to much about playing football.
Not that they can do that well to begin with.
But lets say in some strange world, this contest actually happens, and New South Wales walks it in with a 50 point win in front of 15,000 fans.
Now we are off to Queensland, and Queensland is still in the 1980's, so at least its only an 80 year spread there. Still, after a week of everyone laughing at the previous weeks pathetic contest, 10,000 turn up to see Queensland put 70 past whats left of this stupid pommy outfit you've thrown together.
Its all a learning process though!
So now you have Tests to sell against Australia and then New Zealand....
Do you see where I'm going with this.
Its a stupid, stupid idea. Stupid.

| Wow, you really are a c*** aren't you?
I actually feel quite sorry for you in a way. Your life must really be quite awful if the only thing you have going for you is to wander around the internet being rude to people. Sad, sad little man.

I'm still shaking my head that someone could be so stupid as to make the suggestion you made above.
I told a mate of mine about it today, he laughed his ar$e off. He agree'd with me that you must be an A Grade idiot.
