Even in the glory years, Odsal only ever had "loads of potential", it has never been the "iconic" stadium that some have tried to convince the world about..
Yes, it's the ground that holds the record for the largest ever RL attendance and those images are just incredible.
However, the bottom line is that an all singing, all dancing new ground would be both better and cheaper than a redevelopment at Odsal.
In hindsight, The RFL would have been better putting their cash into a new ground and not propping up the hole that is Odsal
It's a "natural" bowl but, this is the beginning and end of the story.

Sounds a bit far fetched. We’ve been plague free since the 80’s.

I agree it was potentially the Wembley of the north but the RFL haven’t spent the money in order to bring that about. In fact it’s criminal the way they’ve let the ground fall into such a state of disrepair.
I don’t think hindsight is a defence for their lack of effort in sorting out their ground. Shocking when you think about it.

It's hardly natural once a quarry then filled a shaped with 140,000 cart loads of household waste deposited to form the characteristic banking at Odsal.

I don’t step foot in Wakefield so I very much doubt I am liable to catch diseases linked to poor hygiene

Well said - even in the 1930’s we were pioneering sustainable construction. It really does border on criminal that the RFL have sat on this vitally important piece of history and haven’t done anything with it.

Sorry Bully but, did anyone ever promise that or expect it to happen.
Why on earth would "we" build such a thing and who the hell would pay for it and for it's upkeep.
A 60/ 70000 capacity stadium would be a complete waste of money and the irony would be that, IF this was built at Odsal, it would be far too big for Bradford's current or future needs, which would leave them looking for a new home.
