If SLs past dealing are anything to go by I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't give Leigh a nod and a wink. Don't think they are the most scrupulous of people to deal with

As a Leigh fan from 1960, I never wanted the fast track into SL, it was a disaster waiting to happen for whichever team got chosen, but the hierarchy at Leigh thought differently and put as much effort into producing the the entry submission as the Olymipics put into organising the fortnightly events, even down to paying Eddie Hemmings to do a profile on the club. All I can think of was the club gambling on Covid washing out a second season and they would be a member of SL at the termination of the TV contract, what other reason can there be, having been given the nod on the 14th December when there were quite a few good expierenced player's both SL and in the Southern Hemisphere off contract and available according to Love Rugby League who issued a list a couple of days after the 14th, Leighs effort from that was Lewis Tierney and Tyrone Macarthy not a lot of ambition shown in those signings.
After all prior to the selection process naming Leigh Mr Beaumont stated he would take promotion with no funding at all so getting £1M was a very good sweetener for him, so not having spent very much of that money he is in a good place to compete in the Championship next season, all I will say to Leigh is take it on the chin and accept what was on the table at the begining of the season, finish 11th or you are down, I never expdcted anything else, I stated before a ball was kicked we wouldn't win a league game all season, I hope that I am wrong with that, but we are still going down.

It would have to forfeit membership to do so...and having done so...it has no recourse against the governing body.

No mate. support Derek. stick with his goal and enjoy it when he finally get's there. He was happy to take that last place and even when it was clear they would come bottom he looked greatly enthused when Leigh took HKR close, and delerious at Salford's scalp. He will get you there eventually......

You reflect that Beaumont felt he was on a winner even if he didn't win a game. He did get £1M, he did underline Leigh want SL, he did happily make up the SL 12, he did enjoy coming close against HKR and he is made up at beating Salford. He knows he's the sort of Rich owner other SL clubs have and would like to have join them.

That Leigh were chosen proves that the SL owners like Leigh and yes they have to win that place, but SL seem to be fully behind him.....

Think a lot of Championship clubs applied for SL because they were listening to the rumours of reorganisation and the ladder being pulled up at the end of the season

I was only wondering that when I opened your post, in his interview the Doc said "If Derek will have me" I can think of thousands of reasons why he should, and not many why he shouldn't, surely Derek knows all the fans are eagerly awaiting the news, why the delay, whichever way he deems to go.

You seem very nervous about all this Harry, why not just enjoy the ride? If you want something to worry about go support one of the 16 clubs who don't appear to have any future given the plans seem to be all about 20 "SL" clubs some top tier, some second tier...........
