It's not really blackmail unless Livolsi & Co have some damaging information on the SL bosses they can use as a lever. The Toronto Wolfpack Ltd. in question is bust, gone, shut down, kaput, no more, and that entity had the legal obligation to pay, but has no money to fund such payments.
Of course the rich ex-directors have shedloads, but their duty to pay is merely a moral one. I certainly agree with you as usual that it isn't right to try to broker a deal by saying they will only put the players food on the table and rescue their bank balances if they are allowed back as TWP 2021 Ltd.
It's nasty, it's mean and they have a bare faced cheek, but all the more reason to say **** off.
Maybe the great Eric Perez can take them all on at Ottawa and pay their back wages?
