The players need to act like it was still a lockdown (that never was) otherwise it’s going to keep on happening.'"
There has to be some common sense to the whole situation and I’m not just talking about in sport. Based on the supposed death rate, countless sportsmen should have died now who have contracted it. But they haven’t because they are fit and healthy.
Protect the vulnerable and get on with life. Nearly as many people died during this pandemic because of other effects of covid that actually died because of the actual disease.
If anyone is overweight you have had ample opportunity to lose weight since March and give yourself a better chance of beating this illness should you contract it. It’s not hard to lose weight. Eat less and move more. It’s really that simple. Obesity is a key risk factor for this disease. Unless you have an underlying health issue that makes it impossible to lose weight, you have no excuse for being overweight and putting yourself at risk. If you won’t lose weight for yourself, do it for your loved ones and stop being selfish. Do you really need that bacon and sausage butty on the way to work?
We can’t hide away for ever and we can’t expect sportsmen to lock themselves away for 24 hours a day either. They still need a life and as long as they don’t break any rules and stick to the guidelines I don’t have a problem with what they do
