Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873" Also regarding Toronto (and Catalan), if they dont receive a slice of the Sky "cake", it may be that the rest of the SL clubs are more than happy to have them make up the numbers. For instance, if there were say, 6 overseas clubs in the comp, who didn't receive a share of the cash, the 6 UK clubs would receive a massively higher share ?'"
I love you man, but your drifting so far outside the box the Wolves will get you.....
Again McManus confirmed that "[iThe sky isn't the limit[/i"

The limit is three overseas clubs, so
[uSKY wanted at least nine English clubs[/u. HOWEVER the three places were a nod that the game needs to expand it's player base and commercial income footprint.
If those three clubs were say Les Catalans, Avignon and Toulouse and they brought in say a £40,000,000 French TV contract and developed say 40 top quality professional French players then that would be exactly why SKY would be happy as the game here would be happy, that real expansion can only be a good thing all round.
If those three clubs were TWP, Ottawa and New York same again - convert 60 top class grid iron players to quality SL players and get a $100 Million Foxsports TV deal. Real expansion.
But if you admit NY, Ottawa, Avignon, Toulouse to try to live the dream of expansion you then have to boot out Wakefield, Castleford, HKR and Huddersfield.
You then lose Mike Carter, Ian Fulton, Ken Davey and Neil Hudgell. You then see these clubs descend to be championship clubs, you then see academies and reserves at these clubs fold, you then see English fans pull their SKY subscriptions.
That's contraction
