| It would appear that Toronto's main issue at the moment is a lack of Academy.
Moving forward they need some sort of Academy, having players officially working in the UK seems like a mess with apparently Canadian players not able to get work permits to play for a Canadian club. Who would a Toronto academy play against anyway. You would assume there must be some plan for Toronto to Dual Reg with Ottawa to partly solve this problem.
It would seem that an alternative would be for the Wolfpack to have a UK academy in say Cumbria, Wales, or even Rochdale/Oldham. These areas do have untapped talent and would improve Toronto's worth to the league. This is not even a novel idea, Melbourne have used a similar model very well, with feeder clubs in Queensland allowing them to discover Inglis/Slater/Cam Smith.

| Quote snowie="snowie"I don't hate Toronto I just think travelling 6000 miles in a league competition is not financially stable especially when they are taking players from a small player pool in the first place, I getting fed up with being told that the game should be played in beautiful locations with no atmosphere, look at last night's match it was dull due to the lack of opposition supporters'"
That's completely understandable and i'm right on the fence about it but some people do get very unreasonable about them so it's hard to have a decent discussion about it at times. They have completely stuffed themselves with this salary cap mismanagement though and I expect it will be a long, hard season for them. For it to work they needed a bit of help but also needed to get everything right and they definately haven't.

Corrected, last night was just bad. Blaming the lack of a few hundred ed up away fans is overlooking the problem.
Thursday night games in general are bad for atmosphere.
Edit: What I can't say P!ssed!!!

| Quote Donnyman="Donnyman"You really believe that they have the freedom to move away from the script. The script has to be to tell us all how exciting and groundbreaking it all is otherwise they will just be putting SKY viewers off. They have to play everything up and are paid to do so as the mighty Snowie says. You on the other hand are free to judge TWP with an open mind, do please try it, remembering they are here to expand the player pool and the TV deals.'"
You have been saying for ages now that Sky do not want Toronto or overseas teams. Why would they tell their employees to now publicly support them?

Or indeed televise their games at all. Surely the best reflection of what Sky feels various teams have to offer will be reflected in how often each features.

I've never said that at all. but when people cannot find an answer to the point made they usually try to shoot the Messenger. They try to argue that the point is "[ionly an opinion[/i". They then demand "evidence" even though they have never posted a shred of evidence in their whole life on here!! Somehow they think that if they don't bother to research something, or listen to those who run the game then it never happened and was never said.......
Mr. McManus made it clear the SKY contract needed English clubs in it because it's English club fans who buy the subscriptions. He sad it not me. Mr. McManus and Mr. Pearson at Hull conceded that a couple of overseas clubs could be admitted with the aim of those clubs stimulating expansion in terms of a bigger player pool and such clubs getting their own TV deal to add to the one here. But Mr. McManus speaking for the SL clubs was not convinced Toronto were ever going to supply Canadian players or a TV deal.
If you want to question that then here are the contact details https://www.saintsrlfc.com/club/whos-who/
As for your "Troll" point you know full well why nobody on SKY would say anything against the clubs SKY are showcasing.

Ha ha - here we go again "shoot the messenger" trolling You've been telling people on here for years how TWP are the future.
You've been ignoring the $10,000,000 debt, the absence of a cent of TV money, and no Canadian players ever.
Bottom of the league and set to run out of troops - Oh the glamour of it all Bring on New York and Ottawa...
More! the crowds cry all hail "expansion"....

Although they may form part of Sky's income, it's not the subscriptions that will decide the level of sponsorship from Sky, it's the level of advertising that they can secure on the back of showing RL on their platform.
Of course they would love to have 5X the level of subscriptions but, they would need to find a way to prevent people "watching from abroad" on dodgy systems.
Also regarding Toronto (and Catalan), if they dont receive a slice of the Sky "cake", it may be that the rest of the SL clubs are more than happy to have them make up the numbers.
For instance, if there were say, 6 overseas clubs in the comp, who didn't receive a share of the cash, the 6 UK clubs would receive a massively higher share ?

Quote Clearwing="Clearwing"Surely the best reflection of what Sky feels various teams have to offer will be reflected in how often each features.'"
This isn't true at all because SKY have to provide the fans subscribing to watch their clubs play, with games involving their clubs. Way back when Huddersfield were serial losers, Huddersfield fans still paid their subs and were provided with Huddersfield games. Fartown offered nothing much but were featured as their fans were paying. Of course the successful clubs are on more because they won through to the play offs, and they probably provide higher numbers of subscribers.
Toronto Wolfpack and Les Catalans offer SKY nothing as their fans don't subscribe, but SKY can hardly demand they won't show these clubs. Mr. McManus dealt with this saying that SKY concede a couple of expansion clubs because they do not want to stand in the way of the game expanding it's commercial income and quality player base. That's how it is.
https://www.saintsrlfc.com/club/whos-who/ if you want to check with McManus. Question for you - how many players have TWP developed and how much TV money are they attracting in North America?
