There are only so many Morans and Ken Davys that you will come across that will continuously pour money into the club that they love and it will not last forever.
What happens when the likes of Davy stand down? Who do you think will be there that will be happy to lose a million pound a year to watch a team play in a stadium that is at 15% capacity every week? The rise in salary cap would probably be sustainable for 50% of the teams in super league as it stands, but again that is heavily reliant on the investors at the clubs.
Our game will never be on a level with the likes of football and the level of investment and interest that clubs get in that game, I look at it like this - Toronto are a one off - If you don`t believe that, just look at the level that the Aussies have been at over the past 10 years and the size of the game and yet the once in a generation players - Thurston, Slater, Lockyer earned a fraction of what SBW has been given by Toronto. Maybe there are a few other investors in North America that want to follow suit and throw crazy money at a pet project, similar to MK with Salford.
In a few years time, if it does evolve and if there are multiple teams with the same level of investment as Toronto, I would be more than happy for my club to go there separate ways and stick to playing the likes of Salford, Leigh and KR in a different league and let the likes of Saints join them in a super duper league - I do however wonder how long it would take the likes of Wigan to join us though? They have lost around 700k a year over the last few years with things as they stand, how long can those losses be sustained?'"
No point in banding facts about the place. Their minds are made up and wont be changed. Like a petulant toddler throwing a tantrum.

Nice one Mr. Dog, you got me!! This is the weird thing about this so called expansion, in the end it will be several squads of 20 odd professional RL players all from England, and down under living and training along the M62 flying out to Canada a handful of times a year to play some "home" games. When Toronto and New York, or later Montreal and Ottawa play each other the two pairs of teams will each be on the same Aeroplanes! Let's hope they don't carry on any on field "disagreements"onto the plane returning to Manchester!!
Whilst that's going on the useless Wakefield Trinity will be playing the useless Huddersfield in the part time championship before 2,000. Equally the useless Hull.K.R. will be on 2,000 for the visit of Salford in the championship. These crowds happened last time they met in the Championship. I can understand "expansion" if there are more players & TV money, but if these NA teams are players from here and down under just masquerading as expansion then how do we keep the interest going amongst fans here, or get kids to bother playing anymore in Castleford, Huddersfield Salford and West Hull?? How do we continue to get a SKY TV deal if disgruntled people don't buy Subscriptions anymore from these places?

Apologies Roy, you haven't quite [i"got me wrong"[/i. It is more that I have misled you. I'm pro expansion in the way that London Broncos and Newcastle Thunder operate investing in their player development and academy systems. I love Wakefield, I first saw them about 1972 when I got the bus up to there and was dropped off outside Belle Vue and saw Terry Crook, Dave Topliss, Neil Fox. Mick Morgan and David Smith in action, superb players.
I was being sarcastic about the so called expansionists who believe that Toronto and other proposed clubs who won't ever develop players to "expand" the playing pool or find TV deals to "expand" the broadcast revenues, should be allowed to replace such as Wakefield and Huddersfield who they view as "useless" just because they are at the lower end of the table.
