6 incredibly incorrect calls by Hicks in the first 20 mins? That’s just incredibly incorrect.
He only made 9 decisions in total in the first 20 mins of which only 1 was incredibly incorrect:
2 mins - Knowles No Try - should have gone to Video Ref
6 mins - Walmsley knock on
9 mins - Warrington penalty - Saints offside from last tackle kick
12 mins - Turnover - Warrington knock on challenging their own last tackle kick
15 mins - Zero tackle for Warrington - Saints knock on after inside ball from Lomax
16 mins - Percival knock on attempting you take Warrington kick
17 mins - Saints drop out - Coote knocks the ball dead
18 mins - Warrington knock on at the play the ball
It’s nonsense to say 6 of those are even incorrect let alone incredibly incorrect. The only 1 that is is the Knowles No Try and even then the decision that’s wrong was to not use the video ref. If there’d been no video ref I’d have entirely understood the No Try decision.'"
I’m just enjoying the BBC commentary on now where the ref has barely been mentioned. That and the clown on here who thought the Percival try was offside when it was Percival who kicked the ball. Its showed up the horrendous faux controversy. |

Saints have been the best team all year (except of course at Wembley).Most RL fans accept that. It's sad however, that a magnificent season has been tarnished by the unsporting behaviour of McManus.

Only because certain small minds chose to bring it up, a predictable preprepared response to a Saints win. Same people trying to whip up faux controversy at the refereeing. Proud of the chairman. An outstanding corporate citizen.

Yes the ref was poor but Saints deserved their victory their forwards were immense.A young British coach taking a Salford side to the Grand Final with players no S.L. side wanted is unheard of.No money poor attendances having to sell their top half back Lui to Leeds 2 months ago.Watson deserves his Great Britain call up he has learnt his trade of first Tony Smith when dual redg with Swinton then Tim Sheens at Salford.Now he goes to work under the greatest coach of all time Wayne Bennett this will benefit Salford next season.

Id give up la, you sound just as narrow minded as the ‘99%’ of Saints fans. Still you could try ‘I’m a neutral but’ or a (despite finishing 16 points clear) ‘Saints have been the best team’ to hide the inevitable petty and small minded gripe. |

The calls the neutrals are getting all weird about are so minor. There was only one big call in the game, the decision to penalise Lolohea for obstruction. It was the correct decision, completely accidental but runs into his own player and stops Knowles tackling him, clearly obstructed, he wouldn't have scored had Tomkins not been there. I spotted a knock against Salford in the 49th minute that should have been penalised for a ball steal by Thompson. The two Naiqama tackles could have been penalised, but the touch judge didn't flag for either and it was right in front of him, so not sure how Kendall is supposed to give it from his position, i.e looking at Naiqama's back for the high shot. The decision against Dudson was a 50:50 as both could be penalised. He could and probably should have penalised Smith for not releasing him, and I'm sure he would have done had Dudson tried to play the ball with his foot. A more savvy player there would put the foot on it and get the penalty. But to note, Kendall gives exactly the same decision against LMS in an almost identical situation.
No major controversies at all and the best you lot can come up with is sweeping statements about bias with absolutely nothing to back it up.'"

The only club which has, from the top, systematically slated a referee is St Helens. Hence the controversy about Hicks and about Kendall's calls last night. |
