| Not sure why the some media has been building this as 'David and Goliath'. Salford are a club with a good history and have been Champions a lot more recently than the likes of Wire. (well, I suppose that's not difficult)
As for the match itself, if Saints get on a roll early they could blow Salford away, but if it's still close around the hour mark then anything could happen. Not sure who I want to win because I don't like Mancs and I don't like woolybacks either.
Good to see though Salford's appearance on the big stage is generating extra interest from the media. I'm not sure that would've been the case had St Helens faced one of the other big guns or a Warrington.

First paragraph - You've changed your tune as you've had plenty of digs about Salford in the past.
Second paragraph - Nice try but I'm sure you already know Salfordians aren't Mancs.
Third paragraph - We finally agree on something.

| Can't see anything past a Saints win although it wouldn't surprise me if they bottled another big game.

I take it your a Widnes fan by the way you've had a couple of digs at the wire.apologies if I'm wrong..as for the end of season final Salford are massive underdogs hence the 10 start..still can't see past a saints win..hope its not a controversial saints win.

| Looking forward to watching the match here on TV. The only time I have attended a Salford game at Old Trafford was back in 1958 when they played a league match under lights against Leeds and lost. Hope they have better luck today. Have never been to a Saints match at OT.

| People need to get a grip.
In the unlikely event that Salford defeats St Helens, then Salford will be representing Super League against the NRL in the World Club Challenge next February. Salford would at that time have long lost the services of their star player Jackson Hastings -- the person responsible for Salford reaching the Super League Grand Final -- when confronting Hastings' former club, the Sydney Roosters. The result will be a massive walloping and humiliation of Salford, with the Roosters scoring over 60 points, and probably not conceding a single try. Super League will be dismissed as a joke. English teams will become the laughing stock of Australia on the back of Salford's humiliation.
That is why it is imperative that St Helens wins. Only St Helens, with its array of stars like Theodore Fages, John Lomax, James Roby, Thomas Makinson, James Roby, Alexander Walmsley and Kevin Naiqama can possibly make a serious stand against the star studded Sydney Roosters, and thereby make England proud.
