If you can't award it to the coach finishing top by a record points margin, then second placed Salford would have been just as good a story.
Just hope Salford fans can see the flip side of the argument too.
Awards are nice but on field success is what matters. Lomax was not even in the running for MOS, which you could say is more surprising.'"
fair points, i just think watson has done great in the face of losing his best players most seasons and with a low budget - i believe he had to directly appeal to the fans by letter at the start of the season to back the club financially (might be wrong on this hopefully a salford supporter can clarify) he's also knitted together a team largely composed of players other clubs didnt want
agree with you on lomax by the way

icons1949_files/4193-180guyguyme2003-msnicons.gif The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

There is an argument for holding the vote a bit later, if London had managed to avoid relegation then it would be without a doubt DW but he didn't and he's not'"
I'm not sure about that, the basement battle was meant to be between Salford and London, London ended where they were supposed to Salford did not. Holbrook got the award but as he said maybe if the vote was later he may not have received it.

| It doesn't really make sense to do the voting in August, and doesn't need to be done earlier for any practical reasons. They could literally give each of the 12 coaches a call on the morning of the awards and ask who they are voting for.

There's a lot more involved that simply handing a trophy over. There's the engraving of the trophy and the putting together of the winner's video. However, I do agree that August is a ridiculous time to do the voting and the middle to end of September was more logical.

That chanting was funny at first, however as the night wore on it because more and more embarrassing, especially the booing and jeering of Justin Holbrook when he won the coach award. You could hear fans telling the culprits to shut up from where we were.

I thought it was pretty poor to be honest, detracted from what otherwise seemed a classy event put on by SL.
