Quote: The Phantom Horseman "You have to be kidding, he has managed to guide York to third place and the play-offs with a team on a much lower budget, and with far less natural talent, than any of the other top 5 contenders. York have no stars but their success this season has been built on teamwork and excellent coaching. I'm a Fev fan and I think Ryan Carr has done a tremendous job for us, especially given where we were in January, but Ford's the Championship coach of the season without a doubt.
Saying Ford has been found out there is as silly as saying Danny Ward has been found out because London got relegated.'"
Ford is a very structured coach like Powell or Kear - unfortunately when the plan doesn't work there is no plan b because the players are allowed to deviate from the plan. Powell has never won a final and 2017 was a glaring example of what happens when the coach's plan is worked out. Yesterday was the same Ford had a plan 5 drives kick deep hope for a mistake - when Fev went in from early in the second half York didn't have a plan b.
