We (Cas) dont have the big game mentality in our team. Ellis is not a starting 7 for a team wanting to finish in the top 5. We have too many average players around the team who when it gets tough just go hiding.

I took 8/1 a couple of months ago on Wigan and I still think it’s a decent bet.

If Saints play anywhere near their best (big if I know, especially in a playoff game) then I think they’ll beat Wigan fairly comfortably. I wasn’t impressed one bit with Wigan on Thursday and for me that performance against a Saints or Salford would have seen them beaten. Still, I think a Saints vs Wigan Final is a dead cert with a Saints win, if they can hold their nerve for once. Would love to see Salford get to the final and win it, though.

I don’t think anyone at St Helens is terrified of Wigan. Are they looking over their shoulder and thinking this lot have a chance, probably. But terrified, I doubt it.

It’s still St Helens’ title to loose.
