| Sunday September 8th 2019 is going to be a huge day for the League One candidates for promotion. Newcastle Thunder is running third, one competition point behind Oldham. On Sunday Newcastle plays Keighley, and is expected to win easily. However Oldham plays fourth placed Hunslet at Hunslet. If Hunslet can spring an upset win over Oldham, then Newcastle will overtake Oldham.
If I am not mistaken that scenario will guarantee Newcastle's promotion to the Championship.
Who thinks that Hunslet will beat Oldham?

Yeah it rewards higher placed finishes by ensuring you have to beat everyone above you away, but in doing so it elongates the play offs and means a lot of fans won't fully grasp the system.

| Be great for the game if they do, they have a good ground and we have chance to make inroads in the city with the World Cup games.
Union are on the march there though. Moving Johnny Wilkinson there in the 00s still didnt quite break through, but with World Cup, European Cup and England games there in recent years they are pushing it hard.
