Quote: Hasbag "People will still watch no matter what game is on. I don't watch a game purely because it is Leeds on sky. I just watch because I enjoy the sport. There is a couple of tasty looking fixtures every week so it wouldn't be hard to still pick interesting fixtures if Leeds went down (saying that, sky do manage to mess this up at times already!).
The fewer games on TV with that awful band in the background, the better (for me at least).'"
Some people do tune in regardless of whose playing but many won’t either otherwise you’d get a more even spread of televised games between all 12 clubs.
The band might be annoying, that won’t bother Sky. Sky are not a charity who are just going to offer us whatever we want. Sky will want to offer us as little as they can get away with. If they can walk into negotiations saying you’ve just lost your biggest supported club who they usually show 2/3rds of their games a year they’ll use that to get a better deal FOR THEM. Unlike football we don’t have a host of different tv companies desperate to show us so SL isn’t in a position of strength nor have a good record of securing good deals so if anybody thinks Sky will role over for them is living in a fantasy land.
