Add fonua and farimo

Possibly it depends on the final picture. Apparently Parcell had to leave for the quota spot for Lui, but it looks like Lolohea is going to Salford so Lui and Lolohea cancel each other out in terms of a quota spot. If Parcell’s still going to free up another quota signing then it might be worth it IF it happens and of what quality. If we don’t sign anyone at all with that free quota spot then it’s an awful move.

It’s amazing how these players that can throw people out of the way like they’re not there when running with the ball can’t tackle for toffee. Similar to Vaivai for us, big bloke, you’d expect him to be able to throw people to the floor, but nope, flapped like the rest of them in D.

Now you're really making a fool of yourself. Fonua's tackling was superb. You don't start in the NRL if you can't tackle. Jealousy can really make you say some moronic things. Our condensed line sometimes exposed him positionally, but his tackling was always spot on. He's got a tackle efficiency of 77.4% which is better than any other Wests winger and Aussie International and Storm winger Will Chambers only has 79%. To say Mahe Fonua can't tackle is just plain stupid.

Chambers is a centre. I like Fonua, he's a cult figure like Hurrell. We need more of these in SL even if they're not absolutely top notch NRL players.

All of the can tackle, I can't remember many times at all that either Faraimo or Fonua have missed a one on one tackle whilst in a Hull shirt, it's their decision making that is a problem.

Shaul is a good defender for his size, he has saved many tries this year over the line, by tackling or getting his body under the ball, he saved 3 at warrington away.

I'll take 3rd in the table over bottom with these players that can't tackle.

If three of them can’t tackle according to you, then you’ll have no worries running rings round them then will you, that’s if you end up staying up that is.
It’s not that any of them can’t tackle, it’s that we always play really compressed and often get beat down the edges. There’s no issues with any of their tackling it’s more positioning due to defensive systems.

Mahe's a centre or winger. If you compare his tackle efficiency to Daniel Tupou's who is an out and out winger - Mahe's is far superior. And yet which SL club wouldn't drool over signing Daniel Tupou. Super League won't sign "top notch" NRL players unless they can't get an NRL deal for off field issues. Fonua is however a "top notch" SL player.

You can’t go off stats as they don’t tell the whole story. Being out of position and not being able to even attempt to make a tackle is completely different to tackle success rate. I think even Fc fans highlight this as the reason for why they don’t want him playing centre. He can tackle, but that doesn’t mean he’s always there to make them.
