Quote: ThePrinter "Yeah he was rushed back at least a month or so earlier than most ACL returnees and was dropped/rested several games into the season as he was still experiencing pain in his knee. Can’t imagine that’s been solved with the 2 games he had off but Hurrell being injured has meant Watkins has stayed in the team otherwise he’d have lost his place to young Newman....or forced into the 2nd row which he really isn’t suited to.
Any club interested in signing him should be looking at doing a good medical on his knee and that could be a big stumbling block.
Could see Toronto going for him as a big signing even with the fitness risk and has the McDermott connection who was the guy who made him captain at Leeds.'"
Toronto is already well served in the centres with Richard Leutele and Chase Stanley. Even if there were no question marks surrounding Kallum Watkins' fitness (which there are), Toronto should be spending big money on a quality half, not a centre, especially if they are promoted to Super League.
Personally, I cannot see Kallum Watkins being signed by a top Super League club, let alone an NRL club.
