| Quote homme vaste="homme vaste"What a load of rubbish, I am not the biggest Hetherington fan but Gary has built up, re-branded and run the most successful club in the Superleague era, very rarely making the wrong call throughout, not even going into what he has made happen re developing some of the best facilities in the game for his club and now because the team is having a bad run he has messed the club up and is bad for Rugby league?
Also Kath did a great job at Wakefield, steadying the ship for Carter and got us through a rough period in our history and put some foundations in place to get us to be sustainable as a club whilst also helping us out in the short term re signings at the time which were invaluable through her connections in RL. I wont comment on her time at Hull, I know a lot of Hull fans have bad feeling towards her but they have also done a lot of good.'"
utter garbage, Hetheringrons are poison. Hence why Fubar still gets a job. The fact SL voted one way and Leeds another. Have you met them, odious individuals.

| Well as a fan of a Championship club I'd beg to differ. I'd say Hetherington voted for the good of the game against the majority of SL chairmen who voted for the good of the SL.

I personally find it hard not to agree with Hetherington's reasons for voting the way Leeds did. His argument that clubs were using the RFL and the structure as an easy excuse for their own failures was absolutely on the money. In the main, crowds, sponsorship income and commercial revenue are no better now than they were prior to the split.
It's not particuarly clear what your specific issue with Gary Hetherington is - just a lot of hyperbole.

Why even both replying! He just makes things up to get a rise out of you.

| A couple of years ago here I stated McDermot wasn't really a great coach, but he had inherited a self managed team of strong players that were just starting to retire. I was of course shouted down.
Recently the comment 'player run club' has emerged.
Nearly all the old elite players have gone and the new ones coming through don't appear good enough.
Add to that, Furner didn't really want to come over anyway (remember the fiasco before the season started)?
Looking at all this, its hardly surprising Leeds are now in this state. A lot of people outside the club saw it coming years ago - why couldn't GH? I bet he's glad he didn't get his way on keeping the middle 8s now.
Yes, Rovers have their own problems but these have never been just brushed aside like at Leeds.
Time for the whole club to learn some humilty before it's too late.

| Kevvo looked like Steve McBanana did with his interviews at the back end of his Bulls tenure.

| Quote Tigerade="Tigerade"A couple of observations.
Why was Sinfield sat with Agar and the other coaches ? You don't see Radlinski or Wells do it. Is his role different to that of the usual Director of Rugby ?
I have read on several occasions on these threads that Leeds have an element of "toxic" players they need to get rid of. Who are they ?'"
Wells is too busy acting as Cas Cheerleader when they are on Sky.

Reminds me a bit when Steadman and Mercer coached Cas. Great players but out of their depth in the coaching game. We brought unknowns in like Van Der Velde and Stuart Raper who were far better.

2017 largely put pay to it was the old guard. Yes McGuire came good in the playoffs but wasn’t really that good during the regular season and Burrow barely got minutes with Parcell’s Dream Team form.
And we started fine in 2018 being top 4 after 10 rounds. Problem was we didn’t sign any props when McDermott badly needed some. Galloway didn’t play and announced his retirement a few weeks into the season. Garbutt only played 2 of the opening 16 rounds. Peteru only played 3 of the opening 21 rounds. Cuthbertson missed rounds 3-10. Then when he came back Singleton then missed rounds 12, 13 & 15-18. Add in Mullally then the 6 front line props at the start of the year made a total of 45 appearances between them before McDermott was sacked after Round 20. That’s 7.5 appearances per prop in 20 games. Any coach whether at Leeds or any other SL club would struggle if they went so long being so low on props.
Question is why didn’t we splash the cash for McDermott to get desperately needed props but gladly gave Sinfield two marquees and big offers to other clubs HB’s this year. A top quality prop to replace the retired Galloway and another decent standard prop brought in during 2018 when we were still in the top 4 spots and we could’ve stayed there or at the very least come close.

This is the same Hetherington who brought Leeds there most successful period EVER and I mean EVER, what an utter load of dross even for you.
