Quote: Call Me God "It would be a fantastic achievement from a club that is cutting its cloth accordingly and that has built a very adept squad with few stars but who play collectively. They do have an Achilles heel though, i that if you run them wide, their pack does tire quickly and I thin the summer months will be a real test for them.....but I'd say they are pretty safe for a top 5 finish.'"
Never understood this no star bit. Some were not stars when they signed but they sure are now.
Johnstone, Fifita, Tupou and Ashurst would get in any SL team. Miller, Lyne, BJB, Hampshire, Arundal, Batchelor, Arona, Kopzac and Brough would get in most. The rest right up to about no26 would get in a fair few SL teams.
Plenty of strength in depth combined with more star players than many SL teams, only Saints, Wire and Leeds (technically) have more 'stars'.
Its a bit of a myth and a touch condecending imo, how they have managed this on such a low budget I admit remains a mystery.
Can they do it? If they start to get lucky on the injury front and players return fully fit sooner rather than later then they have an outside chance though big match experience will be an issue.
