| Ignoring the copious trolls who seem to ruin pretty much every decent thread on the VT ….
That was a superb comeback by Trinity, and I haven't been as proud walking out of the ground after a loss in a long time.
At Half Time I really feared the worst but hats off to them, so close.
I have to say, why didn't Wire go for a drop goal 10 mins from FT and 12 points in front? It would have pretty much killed the game.
Without so many injured players we could have won that, and credit to Warrington who were superb in the 1st Half.
Trinity V Wire games have provided so cracking matches over the last few years.
Onwards and Upwards!

Who got the 2 points? That’s all that matters. Clue for you, it wasn’t wakefield, it was the side who are joint top

Yet most St Helens supporters would have wanted Trinity to get the 2 points, but not Mr Thicky.
Still, troll away - idiots like you continue to ruin this forum, well done!

I don’t think we were that injury ravaged with only poor old Jowitt out of position, the rest would all be in contention for their respective positions ie Arundel for Tupou is a drop but not massive - he’s still a SL standard centre even if he’s not Bills level.
What is far more important is the quality and the
Form of the absentees. With Johnstone, Topou and Ashurst missing we were suddenly lacking what is arguably the best left edge in SL. I think any fair minded person would concede that’s a huge loss against a top team especially.
For the record those who probably would have played last night were Huby, Randall, Batchelor, Kirmond, Johnstone, Tupou and Ashurst so it’s more than three but our strength in depth nearly covered it but not quiete.
Over all last night was positive for us as only Johnstone is out for the season. Big only I concede.

| Quote Ruune Rebellion="Ruune Rebellion"Once again, Warrington win without needing to get out of first gear but judging by this thread they lost.
Just to clarify, it was wakefield who lost. Yet again.'"
Having watched a game with skill, speed, power aggression, a tense finish etc and THAT is your contribution.
I think that had Trinity not had a "rookie" winger and left centre, both playing their first rugby of 2019, it could have all been different. But, well played Warrington for exploiting that.
The comeback from Trinity in the last 20 mins was superb but, the Troll collective dont even acknowledge that.
Whilst most RL fans were enjoying the game certain posters on here were twitching to post some sanctimonious crap (again)
Perhaps you should ask some Wire fans about them not getting out of first gear because they were totally gassed at the end and lucky to hang on for the win.

| Wire always seem to go to pieces when Daryl Clark and Chris Hill go off the field and seem to lose a lot of momentum. If those two are out with injuries for a while that team is going to struggle and an injury ravaged Wakey would have had a greater chance of beating them.
Remarkable turnaround from Wakey, instead of looking at a 50 point tonking managed to score more tries than Wire and they relied on Ratchfords boot in the end.

Are you sure about that, there is a "bigger picture" the top 3 teams will want to open up a points gap between the rest of the league to get that advantage in the top 5 play offs.
There is also the added bonus of the current top 3 beating the bigger clubs of Leeds and Wigan to keep them rooted near the bottom and out of harms way.

If St Helens want to finish top (and why wouldn't they?) they would want their nearest rivals to lose points.

The ideal is to make it a 3 horse race by mid season then think about the major rivals at the latter end of the season. Holbrook saw finishing top and the LLS as a failure last season so he wants to be more ready for the top 5 this season. As he already knows scoring more winning points in the table doesn't mean anything if you can't pick up the major prize.

Ok, so most St Helens supporters were hoping desperately for a Warrington win last night.
I stand corrected

Most of the ones on here were just creaming themselves, waiting for the chance to post some more anti Wakefield bilge
Seriously though, I'm pretty sure that they would have wanted to see Wire get beaten.
Surely, they would be happier with the top 2 pulling away from the rest than keeping the league as a 3 horse race.
Right now, getting to Easter and being in a position to secure a decent play off spot will be the primary objective of most sides in SL.
