| Well done to luscious London against woeful Wigan. A great win for the metropolitan powerhouse outfit. London will now have one eye on old Trafford

| Quote SaleSlim="SaleSlim" I can't help but feel that plastic pitch is gonna be an unfair advantage for London this year in the same way Widnes used to get some strange results at home.'"
Is that the Widnes who finished last in 2017 and 2018 and were relegated in 2018? Some advantage that
From what I've read on other boards, Wigan had a 14th man in the middle, so extra applause for the cockney's is due by all accounts. Anyone know if the attendance record for Trailfinders was broken?

Neither did I, London are clearly a better team than Wigan now though.

| So no-one remembers a number of top teams resting numerous star players when they played Widnes away a few years back and getting beaten? Funny that, as I remember a lot of fans kicking off on here at the time and a fair few players playing in ridiculous skins to avoid friction burns etc. Like I said I'm not trying to play down what appears to be an excellent performance by London I'm just not a fan of 3G or 4G pitches in rugby, or in football for that matter either. Grass is grass regardless of slopes, pitch size etc.
I'm amazed so many people on here appear to be pro- AstroTurf (or whatever they call it these days).

| Congratulations to London, that's a great scalp (I was going to say "another great scalp" but that would be putting Wakefield in the same bracket, which is absurd - I love a bracket me)
Now we're back with P & R, I haven't got a clue how many wins will ensure survival but, it they could pick up another six or seven, they have to be in with a shout.
The Dixon intercept looked like the clincher to me, not sure who the Wigan winger was, but he couldn't have set it up better if he tried!

So AS108, what do you not understand about that 'there are exceptions to the rule?
The better part of me says I shouldn't respond to your posts, but I have done (perhaps stupidly). I'm tempted to press the foe button, but I'm resilient, unlike our pack v Catalans!

I recall the outrage when Widnes first had their plastic pitch back in 2011.......players wearing protective leggings etc.....that idiotic fad for OTT protection vanished inside the first 4 weeks of the season.
This year, Wakefield brought a side to london that was designed for winter rugby. Hefty pack, up the middle.....so London ran them ragged. London used their pitch to better advantage.......Wakefield didn't plan at all and that's why they got beaten. Wakefield should have trained on artificial turf the week before.....they didn't and that's not London's fault.
The accounts from today's game point to london tackling themselves to a standstill and wigan not respecting the ball and all played in a hurricane.....nothing to do with the pitch.
Neither coach has blamed their sides defeat on the pitch.......

| Having watched the tries, none of them were affected one way or the other by the pitch.

Really agree. I hate to say this, but Wire didn't turn up yesterday, expecting to win (in my view). Any aspiring professional top side negates the hurdles and finds a way through. On the Wigan game, there's no excuses when you compare the player rosters of both sides- well played London.
On a side note, I'm not 100% on the info, but there's a healthy youth participation in London for SL. There's apparently a lot of keen players who like to play the sport, which is good considering the suppression of our sport down south.

| Watching the tries it shows the fine line with winning and losing Wigan bomb a certain try and Dixon picks it up and goes the full length
