It will always be known as a football city but boxing has been huge in Liverpool for years and in cricket whenever Lancashire play County Championship games in the city at Aigburth they are always very very well attended by the locals so the interest in other sports is certainly there.

Your issue with a footballing city/town, when they’re not watching Liverpool/Everton/tranmere, football still takes up a massive proportion of their weekend lives. If they’re not playing amateur football themselves, they’ll be watching their kids or friends play in the Ken Dodd league on a Sunday afternoon.
