| Before this gets much more sanctimonious these kinds of error are not uncomon and can hardly be seen as a deliberate attempt to cheat. The club statement is quite clear on what went wrong and it looks like an appeal would have a good chance of sucess in that the RFL has breached its own opperating proceedures. A legal challenge can be expected if not only because others have been treated differently for the same types of error. One worry is that this might become the standard and then many clubs could be worried.

Is this even serious? You do realise the principle that you can't be held accountable for someone else's wrongdoings is a basic tenet of any justice system, don't you? Or would you just like to make an exception in Wigan's case 'cos it's not fair and I hate you!"

It’s not someone else’s wrongdoings. It’s Wigan’s. Whoever was in charge is irrelevant. Unless it’s a different/new club in which case they should have restarted in League 1.

Go easy on them Snowie, things haven't been the same over there since Mr Wane and half of the team left at the end of last season.
Most of them seem to be playing for Catalan now, whilst others, despite changing club, seem to keep getting banned.
It's a good family club though.
