Quote: Uncle Rico "Well stay as you are then I'm not that bothered and in hindsight regret making a comment
For the record I was only responding to another poster who brought the subject up and in defence of both clubs. I fully support my ground share comment as I said I don't get it particularly if there isn't money for two stadiums, there might be and I DON'T KNOW and very much doubt it from what you stated above, enough money for one stadium or at least a better business case?
No reason to get annoyed IMO and to state that alternative proposals can be dismissed by "sensible people" might true or might as easily be construed as short sighted or unrealistic.
Anyway did Wakefield bid for Widdop?'"
Don't get me wrong - I would love for the situation to move on; if you think the rest of the RL world is sick of hearing excuses, how do you think we feel?!
The unfortunate reality is that both clubs are reliant on property developers who are in turn reliant on the commercial reality of their respective ventures; one is hopeful but stuck, and the other is bent and intransigent - and none of the good people of Cas or Wakey, or the less good people at WMDC, can do a damn thing about it.
Apologies if I snapped at you - it was more frustration with the whole situation, and the sometimes simplistic view that people on the outside can take; you made a perfectly innocent comment and I ranted - soz.
No we didn't bid for Widdop - we didn't want to artificially inflate his market value to Warrington's detriment; our Chairman would never interfere in another clubs business in that way, as any fule kno.
