| Don't see how anyone can have a problem with them being given an exemption if he's literally not going to play for the entire season. Other ways round it anyway even if the RFL didn't let them. Just loan him to a team with enough cap space (presumably only us, Salford and London) in exchange for a favour at some point, similar to the deal we did with Hull for Dean Hadley the other year.

How is that even remotely similar to the Dean Hadley deal? Dean played more or less the full season for us and was IMO one of our top performers, yes Hull needed to offload for temporary relief yet Dean was fully fit and highly regarded throughout the game, if we hadn`t of taken him there would have been at least 5 or 6 other SL clubs that would have.
Simon Grix deal was very similar though.

So would any other member of the coaching staff. Do they count on the cap?

Easy. There’s no use giving a dispensation to a club to spend more money when they can’t afford the existing cap, and can fit a player under it if they wanted to replace a player out injured long-term.

| Quote ThePrinter="ThePrinter"And if Cas weren’t spending the full cap they wouldn’t get dispensation, most clubs leave a gap in their caps to deal with such a scenario. So what’s happening is Cas are being let off with poor cap management, that’s why it’s a poor rule. That’s why is not comparable to other dispensations that Cas fans want to try throw around to make this sound fine.'"
How do you know Cas have spent the full cap. They could be £70k under but have asked only for dispensation of a further say £60k to bring in a replacement on a similar salary to Gale because decent halves are generally higher paid. Doesn’t have to be Gale’s full salary.
In short, you are guessing and making up stuff but in reality you have no evidence to make any of these claims.

| PS, it was explained in League Express as I have explained it.
In short, If the player is out for the full season and it’s supported with medical evidence he doesn’t count on the cap. If he recovers sooner than expected and the club wants to play the player, they have to reduce their cap by the appropriate amount to be able to put his salary back on the cap.

| Be interesting if cas decide to spend their pocket money on, say, 3 players for the duration of the play offs having agreed the wardle swap in the meantime.
Go down well, I reckon.

You just come up with complete guesswork in your first paragraph then have a go at me for guesswork

Yes and has been mentioned, people know the rule and aren’t denying it exists. They’re questioning whether it’s a good rule that should actually exist.

Exactly one of the examples why it’s a poor rule. Likelihood is they won’t sign a HB that cost the same salary as Gale so could easily end up using it on more than 1 player.

God, I hope we do sign 3 players with our pocket money - just to see the reaction on here would be worth it alone.
