Salford - Hastings inspired end of season, results in SL status secured for 2019, and new squad builder initiative launched.

HTH, I'm sure there's someone who can do better!

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover. There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT::d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_76030.jpg

Quote: Mild Rover "Widnes - I suppose their misery is balanced by the excitement and anticipation gripping London fans for their own fight against relegation.'"

At the start of 2018 not may London fans would have backed us for anything other than maybe 4th. We started well and were there or there about's, had a mid season slump and then finished strongly and secured 2nd, which was an epic achievement.
Still, not many of us would have seen us as anything other than make-weights and 6th or 7th was the expectation.....until we won away at Widnes. The we started to believe and even though Leeds rolled over (how bad is that team BTW) against Toronto and we had to travel, we all believed that we had the beating of them......and we did.

2018 has been the most exciting season at London since the run to the play-offs in 2003 and we are now in Super Leage on merit. After 2 decades of "imaginary" extra payments and not being there on "merit', we are in the top tier of the northern hemisphere and in the top 28 clubs in the world. We may play out of a wedding venue, in front of 1,000 fans and only because of the benevolence of our owner, but we don't care. We may get hammered each week and go straight back down, but we don't care.....we may stay up due to Salford going belly up....we don't care....we had a great season in 2018 and will reap the rewards in 2019....if you've not visited Trailfinders then I highly recommend it as it's a great little venue that will rock if filled to its 3,200 capacity.......
....and face facts, at least we'll bring more away fans to Caravan Park than the mancpack would have icon_biggrin.gif

The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings".. Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything. Where do you get that from I must have missed my clubs demise ??? or are you just making stuff up, now that would be a first.

Anyway no matter how bad a season we have we have the luxury of knowing at least one team will be below us. icon_lol.gif

Given your cashcow has said he's no longer bankrolling you (whilst still bankrolling you to safety in the 8's) your status as a club that is on the edge financially is well noted.....2,750 crowds aren't enough to sustain you without a benefactor.......and I made nothing up, I just "summised" what may or may not happen....but your home average dropped by 2,000 or 42% last year compared to 2017 and you have widnes to thank for not being the worst side in the comp Let's hope that this post doesn't come back to bite you on the 'arris at the end of the season......London fans don't expect anything other than a fight at the foot of the table....we're just happy to be back.
