Back on topic. This, if true, is a watershed moment for the sport. If Argyle is permitted to ride roughshod over the rules, then we may as well have licensing brought back now and be done with it, because he is essentially trying to buy the game. He has plenty of cash, of that there's no doubt, but if he buys the top tier, the rest will be left to wither and die......he'll raid the NSW/QLND comps for players, cherry pick the best brits and the rest will be left to fend for themselves.....and he's doing this on the back of 2 winning seasons with the most expensive side outside of SL, a contra Sponsor and thousands of free tickets to a fortnightly beer festival....the minute he had to spend REAL CASH and fly over 4 sides for the 8's he whined like a sheila.

But my question is: Why buy a British club just to relocate them to the US? I mean, is it just for their spot in the league? Because I don't think it'd be that hard to just set up a team in wherever you're wanting to set it up and then apply to join the league. Toronto have proved that.

If I was a rich fella and wanted to set up a team outside of the host country, then I would be looking at setting it up in my own back yard so to speak.

Bringing a team over in a Ikea style fashion will not get the local populous interested and involved.

Start local, involve local talent and areas of business, get the community involved. Start from scratch and work from there with involvement from the area.
