Sure they should've beaten London & were easily second best against Salford, but I still think they're capable of beating Toronto, Toulouse & Halifax, which would put them in the mix for the M.P.G. (Shudder)'"
Bump - Doh!
Looks like that could be it for Widnes.

| lose one against a championship side, you have a chance of the MPG, lose two it looks certain relegation, only hope now is they got to leeds and get a win, with leeds defensive frailties it may just be last chance saloon

| It's certainly an interesting league. Widnes look like they are gone, but not a huge amount of points between the rest.

| Quote Call Me God="Call Me God"What utter drivel.......Toronto are nowt more than a bunch of average RL players with the same pedigree as Fax, Fev or HKR.......they are the RFL's version of Melbourne Storm having been given every assistance available.....they offer nothing to the gme other than a different home for has been players and £1.8 million of sky cash....and as for the announced gate last night.......there weren't 4k there last night!
To answer the OP......toronto will most likely go up.....and then you'll see exactly what the emperor is wearing!'"

| Toronto should go up but as they're squad is basically bottom half or super league/top championship players who have all probably reached the peak of their career or are on the way down it will be a massive difference to smashing the part time teams of league 1 and championship and reckoning they're a great team.
Will be interesting to see how they get on as i reckon a lot of Widnes' released players will probably end up there next year, swapping like for like.
The Toronto story has been great for the club and transatlantic rugby league up to now but let's be honest they've had a pretty easy ride up to now.

| Given how Widnes have gone there are realistically four stronger teams - without the MPG who stayed/went up would probably be pretty clear cut based on league positions, unless one of those four loses a game vs Toulouse, Fax or London (I know, not impossible).
Not sure if any of those three could go to Headingley or Lamport and win the MPG. Paradoxically I sense that Widnes could and even in their present straits it isn't impossible for them to cobble together the points to finish fifth.

| With Toulouse's decisive and crushing victory over Widnes, we can reasonably assume that Widnes is now doomed to relegation.
Toulouse is now in the mix for promotion. The French club should at least be in the million pound game, against either Toronto or Salford (depending on results).
Toulouse have a very talented backline. The only question is whether their forwards can prevail against Salford or Hull KR.

I don't think they will. Haven't they already signed a marquee player from Cronulla? They will have a much changed squad for next year and will sign better players than the ones Widnes have. They will probably finish 7th-10th IMO although i still think they need a different coach to Rowley though.

| Looks like Toronto and Toulouse are neck and neck, but have eclipsed London, in the race for promotion. Toulouse should beat London next week.
I would like both Toronto and Toulouse to go up to Super League, but that requires Toulouse to beat Hull KR and Salford, and Toronto to beat Salford and Leeds, this month

London v Toulouse next week will decide the away team in the MPG........ I don't see anything other than a London win and the end of Toulouse's chances
