Peacock’s incredulity at Hicks awarding an iffy and crucial drop goal to Hudds a couple of years ago felt like it reflected on his previous experience with dominant teams as much as the decision itself.
Fair enough, he suffered Chris Joynt’s voluntary tackle, but that was against St Helens.
Alex Ferguson pretty much acknowledged he used his own and Manchester United’s pre-eminence to influence refs. There’s no grand conspiracy, but refs are human and humans are suggestible.
