| Quote Erik the not red="Erik the not red"If by the best you mean who could perform at the highest level then neither.
Sculthorpe was the only one who could cut it against the Aussies and earn their respect.
Before their respective supporters get their knickers in a twist though they both made enormous contributions to their club at Super League level and as a club fan that's what you really need and want, someone who is consistently good and makes your team better. They both did that, not only good but durable - nobody is any good sitting in the stands.'"
Don’t agree. Farell always stood up against the Aussies. As for sinfield, they just pat him on the head

| Not a debate this one, Farrell by a country mile. A better debate would be Farrell/Hanley/Sculthorpe. I also rate O'Laughlin higher than Sinfield as an out and out 13.

| Sinfield is an Enigma for me. Not the best player in any position he played in, but for leadership and captaining a side superb. We have been blessed with some phenomenal loose forwards in recent years with O'Loughlin, Sculthorpe and Farrell. Sculthorpe being the best in my eyes

| Sinfield barely played loose forward for his last ten years.
As a puller of strings, a leader and as a winner, he was the best.

| I've never really understood the misconception that Sinfield wasn't the most skillful. Sure, he didn't have much pace, but his passing, offloading and kicking games were at the elite level. He also had the brain and vision to utilise his skills.
In terms of who was the best LF, considering Sinfield and Sculthorpe played most of their best rugby at stand off, I'm not sure it's the right question to ask. I'm also pretty sure both of them would be playing in the halves if they come through now. Of the 3 Farrell would be the one most likely to have been a back rower, so I'd say he'd get my vote.

Did he bollox most overrated player of all time, the only all time team list he would make is the 13 and captain of the all time flat-track bully team. The Aussies never rated him at any point ever.
