| Fantastic play from Catalan so far, giving the middle a real thrashing.
Didn’t know how to feel about this game, Catalan have played with some poor sportsmanship in recent games, but I think I’m overall cheering them on, love an underdog, and find it hilarious going back to when the Saints fans cheered at being drawn against them.
Still, would love to see a 2nd half come back thriller

Catalans were garbage in that period and the draw was made in front of all saints fans, what do you expect silence because they were all mystic megs and knew Catalans would be the best team in 5 weeks time.

Maybe not silence but singing 'we're going to Wembley' is setting yourself up for the big fall, and it did and they did

When myself and fellow fc fans exited langtree park, the cheers from the saints fans during the draw was louder than when the hooter went at full time and the tries they scored!

| Rugby league is a funny game.
It is true that when the draw was made Catalans were not playing well. Remember that they started the season with a half back named Luke Walsh whose ankle was seriously damaged and so he should never have been playing. Then they experimented with back row forward Gregory Bird playing at number 6 (he is too old for that) and Lucas Albert at no. 7 (he is too young for that). The team had no direction around the park. But then the coach took a gamble and signed a not too exciting but capable Joshua Drinkwater as half back. Samisoni Langi, a good attacking five eighth (but with defensive flaws) finally came back from injury. Drinkwater gradually found his feet, and together with Langi steered the team behind a huge pack inspired by a rampant Remi Casty, and with the mid season addition of an aggressive back rower from Parramatta named Kenneth Edwards. The team improved gradually but remarkably since that day of the semi-final draw.
Catalans reached their performance peak against competition leaders St Helens. Now we will see them in what should be an intense final against a strong Warrington team. Provided that both teams are at full strength on the day (with the exception of Catalans being without Gregory Bird), and provided nobody gets red carded during the game, it should be a cracking final.
