Assuming that Toronto win all their remaining games, and the other 5 all manage to win all their games against teams outside the top 6 (this is highly improbable and tbh a little disrespectful to the other teams), then it pans out that...
- Toulouse have 32 points, plus 4 more up for grabs against London and Fax
- Fev have 30 points, plus 4 more up for grabs against Fax and London
- Fax have 29 points, plus 6 more up for grabs against Fev, London & Toulouse
- London have 28 points, plus 6 more up for grabs against Toulouse, Fax & Fev
- Leigh have 32 points
The games played between each of these teams are all massive, with 32 (or possibly 31) points looking like the cut-off point for 4th place.
Of course this could all change if either Toronto implode or some of the other contenders lose games they'd perhaps expect to win (Fax don't have a great record against Swinton, our next game tomorrow).'"

Because it gives decent funding to the top 4 for reaching the 8s. At a guess (no disrespect), but fax and possibly fev don't particularly want or expect SL this time around, but the funding allows them to grow the club and in time put them in a position to fancy the top table again.
SL teams can see the champ getting stronger, and putting a threat on their cosy little number - so the simple answer is to pull the funding away, which as I understand it is what the intention is. |
