Must still be hurting that sh*tty old Salford, with their cr*p ground, cr*p attendances etc etc are still playing in Super Duper League while the mighty Leigh, with the best ground in Rugby League, biggest fan base etc are slumming it in the championship.

Salford may be a city in its own right but to the rest of the population not living there or speaking up for them, anything inside the M60 is Manchester. The same is true of anything inside the M25 being classed as London. You can try and educate people as much as you like, but most people don't really care.

Another lesser example are places like Hessle. People think this is Hull but it isn't, it's actually in East Yorks (although this is not really comparible as Salford is a city).

In the end, people don't really care. Greater Manchester = MAnchester and there ain't a fat lot you can do to change that, proud as you may be about Salford.

My comment is aimed at the populous of Salford, and the PR dept at Salford. An area as large as it is with very minimal support is disheartening.
