Bit disingenuous to say York have crowds over 4,000 and Newcastle have four figure crowds when both of these were achieved against the only big crowd puller in the division (Bulls)

Yorks and Newcastles were both boosted by the fact that Yorks was the first match of the season and Newcastles was the night before Magic weekend.

Every teams biggest fixture in that division this year is that match and Whitehaven haven't had theirs yet.

On a side note that this thread turned into I'm all for expansion and think what is happening in Canada is revolutionary but also find it really sad when a heartland club is struggling.

Before 1980 it was completely one sided the way of NSW, when it was a contest between teams picked from teams playing in Queensland and teams playing in NSW who had all the premiership clubs. Crucially QLD players playing for NSW clubs were not eligible to play in the game and the changing of that rule led to a competitive outcome.
