| I wonder how long West Wales can survive for.Nobody wants to watch their team getting hammered every week. When games are so one sided there is no entertainment value for the winning supporters or the losing supporters or neutral spectators.

| Could not the ref have shown a little empathy blown his whistle and ended the game after say 60 minutes. I know this used to happen in my old amateur days during massive mis-matches, particularly cup games. Or am I being too snowflaky?

| If you assume just one minute off the clock per conversion attempt you have used up over a quater of the game.
| | |
| 80 x 60 = 4,800 seconds in the game. Divide this by 25 tries and you get 192 seconds per try scored and conversion taken.......you have to reckon it's 30 seconds for conversion preparation and another 30 seconds as they trudge back up to take the restart....so pretty much 130 seconds a score......a tackle and play the ball and tackle again is say 18 seconds.....so yip, it's fair to assume that York scored in every set or bloody close too it.
Only the british do farce this well......

| When Huddersfield hit 142 in 1994 we scored 26 tries (19 goals) and if my memory serves me correct only 6 of those were direct from the kick-off, Blackpool also scored a try so with the time given for goalkicks etc i presume it's possible to score even more.

Quote: Halifax1989 "Whats the maximum realistically possible score in RL? As has been said above, 144 is pretty much Try - Conversion - Kick off - Repeat.
Did anybody see the game? Would be interested to hear from them.'"
I was there. It was a strange game to watch and you certainly felt for the West Wales team. They played the game in brilliant spirit right up to the final whistle. They're just very inexperienced young union players (by and large).
West Wales had 5 sets in the entire game. They dropped the ball from the kick off, got drove back in goal on tackle 2, and got to the last tackle on three occasions.
The try minute breakdown was: Jackson (1), Moss (10, 28, 46, 52, 54, 66, 74), Robinson (12, 25), Hey (14), Porter (16), Robson (18, 79), Batchelor (30), Dixon (32, 77), Horne (34, 44, 50), Mazive (41), Smith (58, 70), Kelly (60), Robinson (6icon_cool.gif.
