Saints Demolish The Tigers
Last years Minor Premiers and losing Grand Finalists, Castleford Tigers, started their 2018 campaign with expectations of another barnstorming season as they travelled to a tough Totally Wicked Stadium to take on St Helens.
The last time that the sides met there was just a golden point victory between them as the Tigers miraculously won the game in added time, after being down and out, to make it into the Grand Final.
These sides were tipped as the two favourites to finish the season in top spot and to lift the silverware at Old Trafford in October. Nothing would be decided tonight but it would give us an indication of how the two sides may fare in the season ahead.

| Wigan looked very sharp in the second half against Salford but Salford looked dispirited so not much of an indicator, unless it is an indicator of a bad year for Salford.

Do you think that the Castleford bubble has well and truly popped, I think Powell is a better coach than that.'"
If multiple trophy winning coaches in Brian McDermott and Tony Smith can end up leading teams that ended up in the Middle 8's then Powell could (or at least lower Top 8's ) . Confidence and momentum is a massive thing in sport and even more so to the way Cas like to play.

[quote="Budgiezilla":3w2ur1db]Surely it can only be a player from Catalans. Probably the best RL side I have ever witnessed in this season's comp.[/quote:3w2ur1db]: |

Also, how many months ago did you "call it", was it just after they knocked Saints out of the play offs, or was it before then
I do think the bubble has burst yes. They punched well above their weight last year. As for Wigan, it does sound daft doesn’t it but I just think they will be in the chase for the grand final. What do I know though, I thought wwk field would be nilled!
