18764_1329753271.gif Waiting for the 2021 RLWC:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_18764.gif |

| I'm in Aus right now for the WC and it went pretty well in Perth yesterday, stadium was the right size so that just under 15k was a good crowd. Commentators here think it's all about TV: audiences for this have been strong, but it is at the expense of any midweek games. For us, for instance, this means we move on each time after just one match and wait until the following weekend for the next one.
However, despite the doom and gloom on here, there is one clear, logical reason why the NRL should embrace international RL with a renewed passion: they are in a bitter fight with AFL (Aussie Rules) for sporting dominance. the one thing AFL CANNOT offer is international matches. They used to try some 'hybrid' games against Gaelic football teams but even that was weird. International sport is always the biggest game in town and the NRL could win this fight for good if it encouraged it more.

When talking about RL or cycling or whatever you talked about the current rankings, being a bit selective aren't you
Now, Cycling, Darts et al are all individual sports......but as the orif=ginal aside was aimed at ANZAC RL and RL being a team sport, I believe this is as "on point" as possible....

Cycling is a team sport in many events.
England also regularly win the darts world cup, which is played in a team.
NZ also will not be ranked above England in RL after this tournament ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

Congratulations......but the Olympics isn't what was being discussed here. Team sports are though and in both the case of Australia and New Zealand, the Anzacs are better in 5 of the top 7.....which in the case of NZ v GB is shocking given the massive difference in Population......
