| I don't mind Tez, he seems a good sort. John Wells talks like he's describing something of earth-shattering importance. Like when at the touch screen and a losing player came up, and he talked about how difficult it must be for him. He'd lost a game of rugby, not his mother!
Dave Woods is far better, and I like Brian Noble. I prefer having coaches on because they talk about the technical stuff.
Carney is good. I think he also fronts one of the Gaelic sports on Sky as the main anchor.
Phil Clarke should be removed. He is a director and shareholder of a company that represents many of the people who play. Is he going to give accurate analysis, I only have Sky for the rugby, and I'm not paying it so he can use it to inflate the value of his clients.
PS: player-cam is a waste of time and looked very cumbersome because of the padding. It must have been distracting for Gidley.

| Just checking back on the commentary Wigan v St Helens. Ffs it gets worse. Don't know who the Head of Sport at SKY is but s/he needs to get rid of Neville Smith if he won't sort this out.
What a continuous cacophony of babble detracting from what we're trying to watch. There's no chance of enthusing any new viewers who are not fully committed rugby league lovers anyway. There is not a second's respite from artificially hyped up thicko ("setasix" O'Connor) wittering. Not a second. Double babble if Mr Smith thinks it's a good idea to have the referee's mic at virtually the same volume as the commentators. Who does he think we should be trying to listen to when there's two sets of sound on all the time?
What did Dan Maskill say? Less is more. Would be a start to have silence say 25% of the time at least. Then O'Connor could be dropped. Knowledgable RL fans don't need to hear his uneducated coaching 5 year olds style and the wider population will certainly be put off watching.
It's very easy Mr Smith. Just watch channel 9 NRL. The calm, authoritative insights of a Gus Gould are what is required. And a commentator who commentates on the match taking place. And some bits of silence, please.
Uneducated ex prop forward players do not usually make journalists warranting a national media stage. That Sky continues to broadcast such disrespectful babble over rugby league matches is demeaning to the game, it's players and supporters.

| Agreed there should be less voices. 2 man main team with a guest giving his views at certain points during the match.
Obsessed with turning the commentary team into characters and getting them 'over' rather than the game. Last night when Houston hair pulled Sims, the first thing Eddie can come out with is to mock the ex players in the commentary saying they'd never have that problem with there lack of hair
I feel for the refs a bit because one of them (Hicks I think) said if it was up to him/them then they wouldn't have it so you can hear them, but obviously they have to go with what Sky want.

| Anybody else that sees no need to hear the ref for the whole 80 minutes? Yes turn his mic up when we need to hear what he is saying for a decision, otherwise like cummins, pointless.

| The SKY Head of Sport should take the opportunity of the new channel packages to make Rugby League on Sky something that a much wider national audience is inspired to identify with. But he needs to get some much posher sounding commentators. Committed RL fans are tied in anyway but people like Terry O'Connor are far too thick and rough sounding to promote the game to a national, middle class audience. The product on the field deserves much better. Some Australian voices if nothing else please. Tony Rae was good for example or Dave Woods (ex coach) Could Offiah do it? In fact anyone that doesn't keep saying Setdasix or tiresyaout.
