Indeed. Michaels is maybe the only one who you would say can be adequately replaced by a homegrown player (indeed him and Naughton have battled over the right wing spot all year). The rest are very good players indeed.
Incidentally, I'm not sure whose idea it was to sign him, but Fetuli Talanoa has to be one of the best bits of scouting in a long time. He was playing part time RU and working as a bin man when we signed him ffs. These days I reckon (biased as I am) he's probably in the top 5 for wingers in SL.

| Saw a video of the fans fighting. No place for it, heavy bans should be handed out and the clubs should be fined for failing to control their fans.

What? Rugby fans don't fight or misbehave, it must have been football fans.

| Very high error count - but it's worth noting that a large number of them weren't errors at all, but the result of a sneaky hand on the ball on the ref's blind side. I also thought that Mr Child was unusually lenient around the ruck - I don't know if Ellis gets some kind of dispensation because of his advancing years, but he in particular seems to have a free reign to lay all over the tackled player.
Certainly not a game to excite the neutral - but two very high quality teams playing an edgy game in pretty difficult conditions; I enjoyed it, and it certainly demonstrates that Hull are indeed, at long last, the real deal.

| Bad handling in damp and humid conditions. You only had to look at the players shirts to see how soaked they were 20 minutes in.
Nevertheless, a great attacking side like Wire were reduced to scoring off 2 appalling errors by Hull and we defended superbly well when it counted. Our pack dominated - Watts, Ellis and Minichiello were outstanding.
Hardly a classic game but if the conditions hadn't taken over, Hull could have put a lot more points on the board.

I agree, but lets not forget that Warrington had two clear cut chances bombed by Westerman and Clark. If only one of those had come off the result could have been a lot different!

| Quote BuckleyStreetWire="BuckleyStreetWire"I've seen far FAR better games that ended 6-4 than last night's game. I've seen better ball handling in far worse conditions. I've seen better defence (winning try efforts from Cark and Westerman) at a school game.'"
Couldnt agree more BSW.
We actually handled worse conditions better in the second half against Salford at their place when Sandow dropped 'that' goal, the rain was torrential at one point. We also built pressure really well in that second half after a truely abysmal first half....which is the annoying thing for me. Why could we not do that against Hull, quit the stupid offloads, respect the ball, earn field position and the chances will come.
Woeful!!
