Commentators pronouncing names incorrectly is another bugbear.The Hull FC commentator is shocking at it, a recent one was Man Friday when we played Wigan a few weeks back...grrrr.'"
The Sky clowns also mispronounce his name.It should be pronounced Manfreddie. |

Whilst we're on pronunciations, even the people on tannoy system at the KC get Josh Bowden name wrong. It's Bowden as in Strongbow, not Bowden as in Bowser.

Went to school with a Bowden in Hull and that was pronounced as the latter as in the front of a ship.
Also James Clarke gets Mahe Fonua's name wrong by making the O sound as a U, this simply isn't correct. Tongan o is pronounced as in go, the second/last syllable of the word should be stressed too. Think his name means something akin to 'of the same/similar ground' |
