Quote: Wire Yed "Barry and Terry are great for the other RL programmes, injecting humour into the sport, keep them off the live commentary though, just perpetuates the 'northern' stereotype.'"
Not so much that as they don't offer anything at all to the broadcast. They have no real insight or knowledge of the game, and unlike Stevo they are inarticulate and don't add any real excitement either. They are also borderline unprofessional, there have been several occasions where the other commentators have had to tell them off for condoning on-field violence. Being northern isn't their problem, being unintelligent is. Jon Wells is northern and he is a million miles ahead of Barrie and Terry, even Phil Clarke makes them sound like utter morons. In a different era they could've probably got away with it but they stand out like a sore thumb on modern sports broadcasts.
