| Great end to a bad defensive game. Alot of criticism for Hicks but I didn't think he did too bad considering both teams were pushing there luck.

Unbelievable wasn't it, a complete mental switch off. Sandow still shouldn't be kicking that from there in those conditions however, that was ridiculous skill.
Having said that I was again dismayed by the lack of quality on show however, particularly defensively. It's no surprise our sides have been embarassed by the NRL sides, it's unbelievable how poor SL teams are defensively. I don't know what the cause is, whether it's a lack of quality in the coaching, preparation or simply that the players aren't up to it. Whatever is causing it, you don't have to do anything in SL to score, two passes and a straightening up is enough.
I can't see anyone stopping Warrington this year. They are like Saints of ten years ago. They've got a great mix of youth (Currie in particular who looks the best player in SL at the moment), experience and one of those gold-dust, rocking horse poop rarities, an exiled world class back. It's going to take some mean anti-rugby to stop them this year.

Wow. Bold statement . They were 30 12 down to a decent , not brilliant salford side. A more composed, disciplined and tougher side eases past wire tonight.

Maybe he thought it would be a tap on the twenty .
He appeared to be on his own on the goal line, it seemed totally bizarre not to put a few players back.

| Salford should do Ok this season, they'll be gutted at losing that lead, but should be Super 8's, not middle.

Salford and Widnes both look to have stepped up this year. Who do you think will join HKR and Wakey in the middle 8s?

| As a wire fan I was disappointed by the performance, sure we turned it on with 20 mins left, and the Sandow drop goal was just ridiculous skill. We're 4 from 4 but I'm still to see us put in an 80 minute performance yet. Credit to Salford, they are a different beast this year. Despite the sin binning for Currie, I thought he was huge tonight, the kick chase when he came back on was epic and he is a danger every time he has the ball. Best Wire youth product since a certain Mr Sculthorpe.

Teams such as? Leeds are having this year off, Giants have a decent 17 but a shambles of a squad, Saints are mess. Wigan will no doubt be the only challenge to Warrington, but they don't have anywhere near the depth or quality Warrington do.

| The difference in defence between Wigan and the Eels against the Broncos was enormous.
I do not understand how full time pros with professional coaches cannot play to a structure for more than one tackle a game. Poorer athletes are understandable, but regulation plays seem beyond most SL teams. Perhaps not helped by the generally rubbish defence.

Proper tackling is a dying art, coaches/players still can't fathom that a bit of arm flapping up top isn't going to bring down the modern rugby league player with the hugely increased upper body strength to get away from that.
For all the stopping the offload this type of tackle is supposed to prevent (it rarely does) players makes easy yards/break yackles even with 2 and three 'tacklers' in attendance.
Watching Hull last Thursday we couldn't tackle a hot dinner. You commit one player to leg tackle and though they might offload it's still 12v12, whilst it's not always easy or how it works far too often arm flapping by big forwards allows easy metres AND offloads. It's bloody pathetic to watch!
