| I know it isn't the actual sponsor, but I don't think it's too bad in terms of sizing as it doesn't get in the way of the design so blends in quite well. We've had far worse shirts, and as a nod to the early 90s home shirts, I quite like it. For those who don't, you have just 12 months to wait, and there's an away one to come! (We've still got those £1m Game t-shirts to shift as well!)

Not our local chippie but thanks for thinking Wetherby is local to Wakefield, KFC's global reach and Cas - yep see where you are with that one

Personally don't have an issue with either, unless somehow KFC pounds are worth more. The issue is you are factually wrong and have somehow produced some typical oddball snobbery that fried fish is funny and fried chicken isn't - please justify yourself.

Sure you're not thinking of Berrys? In which case, it's not quite battered cod behind the counter, but rather expensive jewellery.'"
In fairness to yourself I wasn't meaning just shirt sponsor which I should have made clear - I don't know who Berrry's are but I didn't assume them to be a chip shop.
I meant Charlie Bretts, I'm sure in the past they have done match sponsors etc. Although not a shirt sponsor I'm sure your club has profited well.

| Quote vastman="vastman"Wrong again. The Whaler sponsored the launch only.
That said Leeds have been sponsored by a Chip shop for years and that one isn't even a chain. Strange also that you were sponsored by KFC for years, is fried chicken in some way superior to fried fish?
So you've made yourself look the dumb hillbilly yet again, well done.'"
I don't get the snobbery some people have with sponsors. Unless the sponsor is willing to do masses of promo work on their own website/social media etc then who cares who the sponsor is? It's down to the money and the Wetherby Whaler's pounds are worth just as much as Coke/MasterCard etc.
As mentioned it's just for the launch anyway isn't it? And the Wetherby Whaler are sponsoring the Leeds v Wakey Boxing Day game.

To be fair to Vastman, Brett's chippy in Headingley has often been a low level sponsor at Leeds. Not on the shirts but sponsoring different matchday things and IIRC they sponsored a player for a few years.

I don't think it is necessarily anobberty against the sponsor itself so much as the design that it has on the shirt; I would much rather have Coca Cola across my chest than an enormous rude looking whale that takes up half the shirt.

| The silly fish and chip shop is just for the shirt launch innit. The official Wakefield main sponsor for 2016 is:
Local sponsors for local people.

The Wetherby Whaler restaurant on Denby Dale Road is local to me. I should know as I performed the cutting of the tape at the official opening about 15 years ago. Got £500 of free fish and chip vouchers too.

I bet vastman is too posh to eat there and keeps on driving up the road to the kingfisher.
