Will be interesting to see what happens with Burgess now. Scapegoats will have to be found and Sam will be an easy target although, i have to say, it would be really unfair. He did well against fiji as an impact sub.Did all was asked of him against Wales,under huge pressure, and England were ahead when he was subbed.And tonight, They were pretty much toast when he came on for the last 15 minutes.

It'll show just how bad the England RU set up is if they make Sam the scapegoat for this debacle.

Matt Dawson probably spuffed in his pants at the thought of deriding Sam in the rags come Sunday/Monday, no wait it's that world class centre Gordon D'arcy whom lambasted Burgess a failure and "embarrassed those around him" in the Wales games..

Oh dear.....you really should re-read the article with both eyes open and the chip off your shoulder. D'Arcy blamed to selectors not burgess and henwas spot on...even professional RL players a green with him....... Burgess was picked too soon.

That piece by that D'Arcy was a disgrace. His motivation? He's trying to earn a crust as a journalist. It relies on him creating an aura of superior knowledge from having been good enough to play as an international Rugby Union centre for years on end. That credibility is diminished in his eyes if a guy who was a forward in another sport can walk into a top international RU side at centre without ever having seen much of the game of Rugby Union, never mind played it.
All D'Arcy has done is made himself look stupid at best. He started with his required conclusion that Sam Burgess isn't good enough. Then takes four days in a darkened room dissecting his recording of the England v Wales match trying and failing to come up with an "analysis" to support his case. Quite laughable.

Are you still paying good money to watch Union on BT sport?

Nearly 100 pages on this thread alone and as I type, 4 of the top 5 topics on a RL forum are all about Union. I suppose when you haven't got an International game of your own to watch you have to watch other more successful sports to see what it's like

So a sport which shares the same name is having its home world cup, the coverage it receives (yes our NGB do our sport no favours) is out of proportion to the inferior game played out on the field, a former league star is in the England team and you don't think it should be discussed on here, are you really that dim?!

Of course the bigger laugh really is a) on you for spending so much time on here and b) those who watch that dreadful game all year round.

I can't explain why RU is so popular, though I can say the same for Football, One Direction, reality TV, and McDonald's.
