Really bad decision by the video ref! Fair enough rules and interpretation, but with a call like that surely must go with the on field refs decision of no try.

Acts like that from Ashton Sims is exactly why Wire don't deserve a win. If there forwards were like Hill and kept there heads down and concentrated more on playing rugby than being niggly dummy spitters they may just win a game.

I thought it was a real tough call. Without the on field decision I thought it was a try as Ratchford, at full speed, looked to me as if he was trying to knock it dead.

That said the rules say the VR has to have conclusive proof to overturn the decision and clearly in this case they didn't. No try for me.

It was the right decision. He clearly wasn't trying to ground it.

Poor all round, scrappy play, bad discipline, poor officiating and the commentary team are just awful.

I agree that he wasn't trying to ground it but do you think it was conclusive enough to overturn the on field decision? That is key in the rules this year.

why wouldn't ratchford just have grounded it?

i don't agree with the rule tho, if it's grounded it's grounded IMO regardless off "intent", would the same apply if an attacking player grounded the ball accidentally? i'm pretty sure the try would be awarded regardless of he intended to ground it or not.

Surely the fact that both video referees agreed that it was a try means there is enough evidence of a try to be conclusive?
