The concept needs to run for 5 seasons plus the main thing is the championship club need to be allowed to spend the same salary cap at the moment Leigh can only go to a million the extra £800 k gets you some serious quality players, Leigh's biggest fault is they can't build pressure in the championship as they have already scored long range ,its a total different ball game playing the super league clubs,alls not lost 5 games to go

Don't necessarily agree on the salary cap but do on Leigh effectively being too good for the other Championship teams.

I'd say the answer is to improve the Championship to the point where all or most clubs are at or very close to Leigh's standard.

That would provide Leigh more intense games closer to SL standard.

It's not over yet for anyone and it'll go right down to the last game where a championship team will have the opportunity to go up. I as a Trinity fan am not 100% comfortable or confident of being safe, we've got just 1 win and are solid favourites for the million pound game where it's down to who plays best on the day.

That said, I posted months ago that I believe promotion will be a 3 or 4 year cycle.
Teams from the Championship will learn what it takes to get up and once up they'll find it very difficult to stay up. They might yo yo for a few seasons before eventually staying up and consolidating themselves as a SL club.

It's very similar to what we see in the Premier League, where clubs get promoted and come back down straight away but they learn both on and more importantly off the field and become better and more capable as a result. The next time they go up they have a stronger chance of staying up but might still come down again before eventually staying up for a protracted period on their 3rd promotion.

Bolton went up and failed badly the 1st and 2nd times. Went straight back down both times but rebuilt and went up again 3 seasons later and then stayed in the Premiership for 12 seasons.
