Lyon was the best Saints centre since Meninga and one of the best players to play in SL.
Joel Moon is a quality player but not Lyon.

This, exactly. Moon never struck meas anything special when he at the Warriors, but he's been terrific for Leeds. I still remember Lyon playing for Saints, though. I like him even less now he's playing for Manly, of course.

Richie Barnett Sr as a centre at Hull is up there with your Gidley's, better than Moon IMO, certainly knew how to knock 'em down

Good argument, well constructed. It's pure chance that Senior is the second highest try scorer in Super League history and that whoever played outside him consistently scored bucketloads of tries. He was immense throughout his time at Leeds.

Much better defender than Lyon and could run through a man better than either of them. He might not have had twinkle toes but the man was outstanding and the stats back that up.

I bet Lyon doesn't even know who Senior is. He's just another centre he ripped to bits when he was over here.

Senior and Moon are very different centres.

Senior was a very powerful runner, Moon is exceptionally skilful. I doubt senior would have put handley away for the try last night, but he would have probably crashed over and scored himself.

I think Moon and Watkins are Leeds best centre combination in the last 20 years.
