Quote: Sal Paradise "Do you really need to know where these games are going to be played a year in advance? Is knowing that really going to impact your social life and your travel arrangements? If it were the world cup I would agree but this a three game series - first game will be played 2 weeks after the GF and the subsequent 2 Saturdays.
They need to launch once the season has started and fans have got back into a rugby mentality - March would seem a good time. Six months should be ample time to successfully promote 3 games.'"
We can't all roll down the M62 when we feel like it. Some people would need to book flights, accommodation and plan time off. I had to sit at home watching the 4 Nations thanks to the decision to release fixtures for a tour to Aus/NZ in May. I just couldn't commit without knowing the dates/fixtures. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It will cost me around £250 to attend each test - so yes - I do need to know.
The Wembley test also needs a 12-month lead in. If they want to get anywhere near 50k they need concerted marketing over a period of time. Sadly, RL fans just won't turn up to things without a massive push. I can't believe I'm agreeing with William but we are all talking about the 4N and Kiwis now! Not the sodding Magic weekend.
