I think McNamara is a very good Manager ( someone that can pull everything together for the squad ) but I don't think he's a decent Coach at all.
Surprised he got the job in the first place.

He should've walked the minute he picked a Kiwi and an Aussie ahead of our own (and they still did jack all).

It years and I mean years since I've seen one of our international teams perform at this level and now people want to swap him. Madness.

He was appalling at Bradford and no better as England coach.

He's improved since being at Bradford, as evidenced by our performances in these last two games. I'd take him over pretty much all the other options being mentioned for England coach i.e. Powell (stoppit), McDermott (norfolk enchants) and Wane (the only potential contender). I'm surprised you wouldn't swap him for Anderson, really surprised.

I would have Powell as the next England coach, purely because he's done what Wane has done at Wigan at Cas only without the thuggery.

Well not trophy wise but he got Cas competing with the big boys turning them over a few times players playing for the shirt without aiming to knock the lights out of other players.

Give Wane the job and you might as well just pick the whole Wigan squad as well

not read all the thread but surely the england coach, whoever it will be should actually be based in england during the superleague season!

He's done a great job at Cas I agree but winning a couple of games against the big teams in one single season doesn't suddenly put him into the frame. I mean, when the chips were down his team folded relatively easily. A bit more experience in big games and maybe then we'll see. As for those who have knocked SM for being an assistant in the NRL, well where did Shaun McRae, Stuart Raper and Michael Maguire come from? Coaching in the NRL is far tougher than facing London one week and Bradford the next.
